How To Make a Flax Egg in 3 Easy Steps
Here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to make the perfect flax egg (egg substitute) for baking cakes. muffins, pancakes, and more.
Prep Time 3 minutes minutes Total Time 8 minutes minutes
Servings 1 flaxegg = 1 small egg substitute*
- 1 tablespoon flaxseed meal (made from ground, whole flax seeds)
- 3 tablespoons hot water
Boil water in small pot.
Next, in a small dish, combine flaxseed meal and hot water.
Let the mixture rest for 5-10 minutes and the result should be gelatinous and "gloopy".
Add to recipes in place of 1 egg.
