Date Paste is a great alternative sweetener to raw honey, agave nectar, and maple syrup. It's a healthy, economical, and extremely easy to make!

Servings 3 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups deglet noor or medjool dates I used medjool dates
  • Filtered water to cover

Instructions

  • Cover the dates with filtered water and place them in the fridge, allowing them to soak for 8-12 hours or overnight.
  • Blend the entire mixture into a smooth paste or leave as is and simply use the soaked dates anytime you'd use date paste (same amount). Date paste can be refrigerated in a sealed container for several weeks.

Notes

Even with labeled as pitted, you may still find some stragglers lingering, which your blender will highly disagree with (even a Vitamix or Blendtec). With that in mind, I recommend always cutting your dates in half to make sure there are no pits.
