The decadence of the chocolate + the earthiness of the beets = a smoothie made in heaven. The avocado creates the smooth, creamy consistency. Dates give it the perfect amount of sweetness. Blackberries give it a fresh, lovely twist. This beet-chocolate smoothie will be one of your new morning, lunch, or evening time favorites!
I gave this beet chocolate smoothie the “Purple Velvet” nickname because of how velvety smooth and creamy it is–complements of the avocado. It would have been illegal to nickname it anything else.
Could you believe that I never thought to add beets to my smoothies until recently? I saw this recipe online for a beet-chocolate cake and wondered, “How can I smoothie-fy this?” I was pleased with the results that I made this smoothie 3 mornings in a row! It even served as dessert after yesterday’s lunch!
I love how this smoothie satisfies my sweet cravings without the use of white sugar. Give it a try! It tastes like liquid cake!
Oh, and if you haven’t tried my banana-walnut bread smoothie, let it be next up on your list!
