Hot lemon water has become the holy grail of the wellness world. People practically swear by it–for a good reason, though!
The combination of the lemon and water serves up a lovely wake-up call. The lemon is a nice dose of Vitamin C, which promotes healthy progesterone production, and the warm water itself is a digestive aid.
I decided to kick things up a notch by adding a splash of ACV (apple cider vinegar), which is AH-MAZING for fueling the digestive fire. I also threw in a little bit of ground cinnamon to balance blood sugar from the get-go. And finally, a pinch of grated ginger helps to keep seasonal illness at bay and is an excellent way to get in one of the most potent anti-inflammatory ingredients before the day has even begun.
You know what? This is the sort of drink that I like to begin my day with and sometimes sip on up until my first meal of the day around 10:30am (I practice 18/6 intermmitent fasting). It really curves the hunger pangs if they every come about! Instead of 1.5 cups of water, I dilute all the ingredients into approximately a half-gallon jug and sip on it cold or at room temperature.
