The Matcha-cado smoothie is so so so creamy and satisfying, you’ll look forward to mornings ahead of busy day. Featuring superfoods like pine pollen and adaptogens like astralagus and ashwagandha, this smoothie is designed to give you what you NEED to take on anything life throws at you.
This smoothie is actually the first smoothie order from the Erewhon tonic bar and let me tell you, this recipe is pretty spot on! I’ve probably made the Matcha-Cado about 12 times within the past couple weeks and I haven’t gotten sick of it yet! It has just the right amount of avocado and sea moss for addictive creaminess and the perfect touch of sweetness to keep you grounded. My satisfaction while drinking this smoothie not only comes from the taste and the amount of energy I get from it, it also comes from me feeling that I’m giving my body what it needs.
The superfoods I added to the Matcha-Cado are what gives it it’s badge of uniqueness. Let’s go through the nutrition profile of said superfoods:
Pine Pollen:
-Rich in vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, fat-soluble vitamins A, E, D, D2, D3, pollysaccharides, nucleic acids, MSM, antioxidants, and live enzymes
-Has all of the essential amino acids, as well as 12 other amino acids
-Contains ALA Omega 3 fats
Seamoss:
–Sea moss (also known as Irish Moss or pure) is loaded with minerals and is also very beneficial to strengthen lungs and respiratory system
-known to be a rich source of iodine (levels may vary in different types of sea moss and sea vegetables). Iodine is an essential mineral that helps produce thyroid hormones
Matcha:
-Contains 137 times more of the popular antioxidant known as EGCG found in regular green tea. EGCG is a part of the antioxidant family known as catechins, which have been linked to better heart health, a healthy metabolism, and improved aging
-Compared to the buzz one gets from caffeine, matcha creates is said to create an “alert calm” due to a natural substance it contains called l-theanine, which induces relaxation without drowsiness
Astralagus:
