This Turmeric Paste is the main base of the the deliciously warming, and wildly anti-inflammatory Golden Coconut Latte and Golden Goddess Smoothie, turmeric paste is a wonderfully simple staple ingredient to have on hand.
In order to amplify the benefits of turmeric, I combine it with black pepper, as the pipeline combines with the turmeric to greatly amplify the benefits and make the curcumin tremendously more bioavailable (by 2000%) for the human body to assimilate. Adding supplements and superfoods to your daily regimen is wonderful, but such a waste if our bodies are not able to properly absorb them.
Oh, and about the pepper…don’t worry…it’s such a minimal component in regards to the final taste of your drinks that you should barely notice it.

How to Make Turmeric Paste
Ingredients
- ½ cup turmeric powder
- 1 cup spring water
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Put all ingredients into a small saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring until it has reached a paste-like consistency, approximately 3-5 minutes.
- Let the mixture cool, then refrigerate in a sealed container. It should last for several weeks refrigerated.
